About us
Emerald Veterinary Health is a veterinary practice specialising in the porcine sector. We are based nr Market Weighton in East Yorkshire and cover Yorkshire, Durham, Teeside, Lincolnshire and beyond.
Our goal is to deliver our clients with the level of service, expertise and savings that they deserve. We pride ourselves on the deep trust and close working relationships we establish with clients, farm managers, stockmen and industry partners. These working relationships form the backbone of our services.
Meet some of the team...
Our vets include Louise Blenkhorn (owner and director) who has been a pig vet since 2010 and self employed independant specialist porcine consultant for almost half of those 15 years.
Louise is a former winner of Young Pig Vet of the Year (2018). Her deep rooted knowledge of, and passion for the pig industry came from a very young age helping her father and grand-father on the families 350 sow farrow to finish pig farm in Co Down, Northern Ireland and effectively has 30 years of hands on experience in the sector. Louise specialises in the production and management of indoor units.

We have a simple motto at Emerald Veterinary Health, Passion and Progress, and we not only use it, we live it. The passion comes from our deep connection with, and love for, the industry. It's in our blood. The passion we have manifests in our approach to everything we do. When you have the passion, the progress comes naturally.
The pig farming sector has never been reluctant to make progress, and neither are we. We will always strive to improve what we can do and what we can offer for our clients, including working closely with industry partners to explore the very latest in what technology can assist our clients, and ourselves, to make progress.
